I cannot believe it has been over 4 months since I have blogged!  I have so much to share that I don't even know where to start.  Just to give you guys a little insight on why I haven't blogged...our busiest months are March to May.  We have the privilege of doing photos for 3 dance schools as well as several daycares and, of course, we still have our studio sessions as well.  Spring is definitely our busy season!  And in addition to being busy here at the studio, my family has had a very busy and exciting spring as well.  My hubby and I went on a nice trip for our 10th anniversary in March and just a few weeks later, we travelled to Oklahoma to attend my brother-in-law's beautiful wedding.  So now that summer is here, it is time to slow down a bit and get prepped for the fall. And, of course, share some of these images that we have been creating over the last few months! 

But before I start blogging sessions, I want to tell y'all about our Grand Opening.  It was here at our studio on February 24th.  We actually moved to our location on Pontchartrain Drive (our address is 328 Sun Valley Drive) back in September.  But next to Spring, Fall is our busiest season.  So the Grand Opening had to be put on hold for a few months...but it was so worth the wait!  We had a great turnout.  I am so appreciative for my family, friends and clients for coming out to support me.  The East St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce was such a pleasure to work with...and it was so nice to meet so many Chamber members who took time out of their day to come show their support.  That's what the Chamber of Commerce is all about...and I am proud to be a member.  And our mayor, Mr. Freddy Drennan, came out to show his support as well.  We had one of our photo booths here (www.mobilememoriesbooth.com) and we did a few giveaways and had some yummy snacks.  A sweet friend of mine made tacos that were so delicious....everyone loved them!  And, of course, we had sandwiches from our neighbor, Subway, as well.  It was a fun afternoon and although there was a forecast for rain, the weather was perfect.

Senior portraits are so much fun!  And this session was no exception.  I met Jamie and her mom, Amy, at my studio in Slidell to start our session.  We did a few shots of the two of them together as I got to know them both.  We chatted a bit about NHS...Jamie attends Northshore and that is my alma matter.  Jamie told me about her theatre experience...so we just had to include a few props into the photos to incorporate that part of her senior year into her portraits.  And then we did some headshots of her in a stunning red dress.  When we wrapped up at the studio, we went to two outdoor locations.  And we got some great shots of her at both of the locations...it made it hard to choose which ones to post!

One of my favorite things about my job is getting the opportunity to work with clients regularly and see their kiddos grow!  I worked with this adorable family about 6 months ago when their little boy was born.  We were able to get some precious shots of him and his big sister.  So I was excited when they came back to see me at the new studio to take family photos.  Lena was looking for a really nice formal family shot to frame and put over her fireplace.  She did a great job with the coordinating outfits.  I can't wait to see how her framed print looks hanging over her fireplace in their home!

My first official session at the new studio!  And it was made just a little sweeter by the fact that this is my little girl.  I typically refer to her as my "baby."  In fact, I had to catch myself to use the words "little girl" instead of "baby" in that last sentence.  But when I look at these images, I am reminded that she is not a baby at all.  It's funny how images can evoke so many emotions.  I love these images...they capture her personality so well.  But if I look at them too long, I start to tear up.  She just looks so grown up.  But that's what it's all about.  Capturing these sweet expressions and freezing time...if only for a moment.

I can't even describe how excited I am to finally sit down to write our very first E.marie Photography blog!  Adding a blog to our website has been on my to-do list for so long.  And now just seems like the perfect time to make it happen!  There have been so many big changes happening over at E.marie Photography.  Adding a blog to the mix just seems like a great idea.

Just to mention a few of the changes...in the last month alone, we have opened at our new location, we have redesigned our logo and we have done a complete overhaul of our website.  The new website is up now...and we will be adding more to it in the coming weeks.  So, it's been a busy month!  

I will be announcing (via a blog post..yay!) our official Grand Opening soon.  But...in the meantime, if you are out and about, stop by and say hi!  My studio is located at 328 Sun Valley Drive.  It's right next to Subway on Pontchartrain Drive in Slidell.
